An open letter to supporters of the Boybutante AIDS Foundation, Inc.
The 2010 – 2011 Boybutante season has come to an end with the celebration of the 22nd Annual Boybutante Ball. It was an amazing year for the Foundation. I am thrilled to announce that on Tuesday we were able to present a check in the amount of $35, 375.66 to AIDS Athens in order to support their HIV/AIDS services and programs.
This is a tremendous accomplishment for so many people. This year’s donation to AIDS Athens marks a very large increase over last year and one of the Boybutante AIDS Foundations, Inc. largest donations. These funds were raised through a year of amazingly successful events, including: percentage nights at area restaurants, drag bingos, drag brunch, a live theatrical performance of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, a tour of Terrapin Brewing Company, karaoke, an amateur drag contest, a bluegrass concert, brunch, and the 22nd Annual Boybutante Ball.
To all of those businesses who hosted events and provided supplies… To all of those individuals who came to our events throughout the year… To all of those who sponsored this year’s season… To all of those who promoted this year’s activities… To all of those who volunteered… To all of those who supported our volunteers and supporters… To all of those who performed… THANK YOU!!! YOU are the reason for the success and YOU are making a difference through your funding of AIDS Athens.
I would feel remiss if I didn’t also thank the incredibly dedicated and talented board members of the Boybutante AIDS Foundation, Inc. To Nathan Altman, Josh Barnett, Jennifer Berkowitz, Cooper Currin, Peter Dale, Liz Hansen, Jason Hartford, Alan McArthur, Chad White (Lacie) – you amaze me with your spirit!
Bottom line – THANK YOU for a fantastic year. Mark your calendars for the 23rd Annual Boybutante Ball on April 14, 2012.
